I have vast experience representing and supporting clients in court and I know what it takes to win a case. I am a zealous advocate and I pride myself on providing customized legal advice with compassion and respect. Juvenile Law matters and Family Law matters are often difficult and stressful. I am here to guide and support you through the process.
I moved to Oregon in 2022, but I have been practicing law since 2008. Prior to joining Hillsboro Law Group PC, I had my own law firm, Muenzen Law, PLLC, in Franklin, Tennessee. My law firm handled anything related to child welfare or juvenile law, including Child Abuse Registry appeals, child abuse/neglect, child custody, child support, parenting plans, juvenile delinquency, grandparent visitation, and termination of parental rights/adoptions. I was also certified as a specialist in Juvenile Law – Child Welfare Law.
I previously worked at the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services for nine years. I served as the Regional General Counsel and Supervising Attorney in Nashville and as an Assistant General Counsel. While with the Department, I litigated child abuse and neglect cases, termination of parental rights cases, and child abuse registry appeal cases. I left the Department as the Special Advisor to the Deputy Commissioner and Director of Community Partnerships in the Office of Child Safety. I was recently appointed to the Oregon Department of Justice’s Children’s Justice Act Task Force, which reviews and assesses how Oregon’s child protection and criminal justice systems handle child maltreatment cases and makes recommendations on how to limit additional trauma to children and their families.
I have regularly presented at conferences and to various groups, agencies, and universities on topics related to child abuse and neglect. I was previously the president of the Board of Directors for Tennessee Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), on the Advisory Board for a local CASA organization, and a pro bono attorney for a local Child Advocacy Center (CAC). I was recently appointed to Board of Directors for the Oregon CASA Network, which is a statewide organization that supports Oregon’s local CASA programs.
My first career prior to law was as a police officer for a municipal police department in New Jersey. While working as a full-time police officer, I obtained a master’s degree and a law degree. These experiences have taught me the power of hard work and dedication. It is my strong desire to work hard for you and help you reach your goals.
Outside the courtroom, I enjoy spending time exploring all the beauty Oregon has to offer with my wife and two daughters.
